Share a list, keep some spots to yourself
Guide · Updated November 3, 2026
The short answer
Hide the spots you want to keep to yourself and share the rest. In Go Here, Hide on any spot keeps it off every link you hand out: it stays on your own map, marked Gatekept, and the server never sends it to anyone who opens a shared link. Unhide it whenever you like.
Hidden means hidden
A hidden spot is left out on the server, not just covered up on the page, so there is nothing in a shared link for anyone to find. It is also left out of Send as note, and never shows on a public profile.
Per spot, not per list
Most apps set privacy for a whole list. Here it is set for each place, so one city map can hold both the spots you hand out and the ones you don’t.
Links you can take back
If a list reaches someone it shouldn’t, New link replaces the link. The old one stops working for everyone who holds it.
Who sees what
- You, with the owner’s link: every spot, hidden ones marked Gatekept.
- Someone with the view link: every spot you haven’t hidden.
- Someone with the invite link: the same, and they can add their own.
- A visitor to your profile: only the cities you put on it, and none of their hidden spots.
Questions
Is there an app that lets me share my favorite spots but gatekeep some?
Go Here. Each spot has Hide, which keeps it off every shared link and profile while it stays on your own map. The rest of the list goes out with one link.
Can someone with my link find a hidden spot?
No. Hidden spots are never sent to a shared link; they are left out on the server, not hidden in the page.
Can I hide a spot a friend added?
Yes. The list’s owner can hide or delete any spot on it, including ones a friend added with the invite link.
